Welcome to the Forum
There’s no gear talk here. There are plenty of photographic forums to cover this interest. Instead use this hub for the creative aspects of photography. Talk photography by all means but let’s keep to discussing how best to make interesting photos that develop from personal passions and how we can achieve this.
There’s only one rule, aside from the obvious respect to others, and that is to register with real names. Online exchanges have in recent times become more fraught and a name tag may well keep our tone in check. Photographic appreciation is subjective and based on opinion, certainly in how we respond to certain images. What we can be more sure of is that references to good and bad need some context and backing up.
Many photographers find it difficult to meet fellow photographers due to their location or indeed have found a club or online experience challenging. In no way should anyone coming to this forum who has just embarked on their photographic pathway feel intimidated. As mentioned in one of Creative Camera’s tutorial sections, those new to photography are by no means inferior and the shoots of first growth can be rapid and fruitful. Many a newcomer has an already developed eye and can offer much to the established enthusiast. In excluding camera gear photography talk, hopefully that will flourish.
This is great opportunity to share knowledge, express opinions and rally together to support a fellow photographer’s project. Also, to debate issues that all photographers face such as the reactions when photographing in public or receiving knock backs from magazines or competitions. There is also a forum topic to feed back with suggestions for the entire Creative Camera site. If you feel different or additional course material would be useful let us know. We are open and happy to look at t.
One idea we have here that we would like to develop is ‘Hosting’ – a kind of Airbnb of photography. This is about establishing a worldwide network of creative people who are not necessarily photographers but who are based in a location of photographic value and can offer inside local knowledge, research materials and access to subjects.
These locations would offer specific photography possibilities that appeal to experienced photographers within the Creative Camera community, who are comfortable travelling alone. Photographers, who may have a project in mind and need some brief location guiding and/or introductions. Fees will be set on site with financial exchanges made between parties. So if you want to put yourself forward, then head to the topic to introduce yourself, otherwise let’s talk photography.

This is about apps and techniques for using your phone. We've recently started using Provoke Camera, which captures a high contrast look favoured by some Japanese photographers in the 1970's. What are you using? Show us your images here.
