Then you’re in the right place.

DON’T JUST PHOTOGRAPH MOROCCO.

LEARN TO SEE IT.

Morocco Photo Academy

Bringing together photographic education, local knowledge and real-world experiences in Morocco – before you arrive, throughout your journey and after you return home.

BEFORE, DURING AND AFTER MOROCCO.

Since 2010, I have been conducting photographic workshops and tours from my Moroccan home, while also offering a range of online photography courses that provide customised exercises, project development, assessment, and mentoring. Since 2010, more than 600 photographers have joined me for workshops and photographic journeys in Morocco.

Before you arrive in Morocco, I like to look at your images and discuss where you want to head with your photography, offering links to look at relevant photographers that show how to think about light, composition, photographing people and visual storytelling. You’ll arrive in Morocco not simply ready to take photographs, but ready to see differently.

Once in Morocco, the emphasis shifts to learning in the field. Rather than simply taking you from one location to another, I work with you on how to respond to the places and people we encounter, considering location, light and timing, finding opportunities, composing with intention and approaching people respectfully. We review images throughout the journey, including some evening sessions where we can look closely at what is working and what isn’t.

Moreover, the relationship doesn’t have to end when you fly home.

After Morocco, You can continue working on the photographs you made here, selecting and sequencing your strongest images and, if you wish, developing them into a longer-term photographic project. Further critique and mentoring are available for those who want to take their photography further. Many clients chose zines to exhibit their images.

The aim is simple: to return home with memorable photographs, richer experiences and, if you want, a fresh perspective on your photography.

Alongside my photographic practice, I hold qualified teacher status and have ten years’ experience teaching in the UK. I have directed UK television and filmmaking projects, and my photography has gained international recognition.
