We’ve deliberately put ‘creative’ in the name. We genuinely want to reclaim the word for personal projects and passions, where the photographer is looking inwards rather than outwards towards what’s fashionable.
We offer a honed selection of online courses that build to our strengths for tailoring exercises, project development, evaluation and mentoring. These courses are informed by our knowledge of historical and contemporary practice, which gives us all a chance to develop our photography.
Since 2010 we have successfully run workshops from our base in Morocco and Spain. The courses at their core, are an extension of workshop practice and particularly in-depth reviewing. During this period, over 500 attendees have produced some 450,000 images, for which all were looked at. Few, if any course providers in the world offer that level of course commitment.
As well as personal theme building, we promote cross genre practice and distinguish between beginners and more experienced photographers in as few ways as possible. Creative Camera is about creative learning and development, rather than camera experience.
There are a small team of photographers behind the scenes who will be developing future tutorials and feeding into the forum and courses. This is a cross international effort spanning spanning Europe, Africa and India.
Led by Darren Lewey, the course structures and learning reflects the many years experience of Darren’s, developing courses for the UK’s QAA (Education Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education) approval. Allied with qualified teacher status, Darren has 10 years of teaching in the UK before Morocco and Spain. Browse the site for the next stage in your journey.
